6th Annual Economic Development Conference in Anaheim

The Sixth Annual Economic Development Conference – Partnering for a Better Future

This year, the 2009 Mabuhay Alliance Annual Economic Development Conference is presented by H&R Block and will be taking place on Saturday, October 17th, at the Sheraton Park Hotel.

The Mabuhay Alliance will be presenting various educational and informational panel workshops with special guest experts as speakers.

Workshops include (subject to change)

  1. Foreclosure Prevention – “The Right to Stay in Your Home”
  2. Micro-Business Technical Assistance – “Micro Businesses Should be Treated like the Banks”
  3. Financial Literacy – “Recreating and Protecting Your Financial Future
  4. Supplier Diversity – “Tripling the Number of Contracts to Women of Color”

Registration will begin at 11:00am, with the workshops taking place from 3:30pm-5:30pm.  Special reception at 6:00pm and dinner ceremony beginning at 7pm.

Guest speakers at the gala include the Director of Energy Efficiency Customer Programs & Services, Gene Rodrigues; California District 53 Assembly Member Ted Lieu and the Commissioner of the California Public Utilities Commission, Timothy Simon.

Gala will honor and recognize the distinguished careers of Greenlining Institute founders Robert Gnaizda and John Gamboa for their service and support of the Filipino community for many decades.

There will also be a special performance by top selling Filipino artist, Joey Albert!
